Grover Corlew is a real estate investment management group focused on acquiring, developing and operating office, retail and multi-family properties across the Southeast. Our strategy includes performing real estate development and Construction Management on CapEx projects through outside experts and trusted advisors, which has allowed us to remain laser-focused on our core practice specialties.
Our firm retained Doug Watt based on his 35+ years experience as a construction executive and owner’s representative to take the lead on all of our CapEx projects.
Doug Watt, Inc. now advises and represents us on a variety of projects, working closely with our executives, asset managers and property managers. They perform everything from selection of the design team through competitive bidding, contractor selection, contract negotiation and project construction management. Doug has also teamed with our executives to form a project-triage group that is on call 24/7 to identify solutions for a wide variety of challenges as they arise.
Doug is currently leading our CapEx efforts on a variety of projects including re-design and re-development of 1499 Interstate Plaza (a 5-story office building in Boca Raton, Florida) and Turtle Run Shoppes (a multi-phase redevelopment of a retail shopping center in Coral Springs, Florida), and redevelopment of Turtle Run Shoppes, a multi-phase redevelopment of a retail shopping center in Coral Springs, Florida. In addition to managing our development, design and construction efforts, Doug has also been instrumental in applying his executive leadership, organization and strategic planning skills and experience as we grow our organization by developing and standardizing some of our processes and procedures.
We are extremely pleased with the results we are able to achieve through Doug’s leadership of our real estate development and construction initiatives. We highly recommend Doug Watt, Inc. to owners, developers and others (equity, lenders, etc.) who find their firm in need of a real estate development and construction expert.

American Land Ventures retained Doug Watt, Inc. as an owner representative to assist with a very complicated site acquisition that required moving city streets and redirecting underground utilities in order to create a developable hi-rise luxury apartment site in downtown Tampa, Florida.
Doug was instrumental during the preconstruction process, working with the city, design team, civil engineering firms and contractors. Doug lead our efforts regarding design and development of the Request for Proposals (RFP), competitive bid and value engineering the project, including contractor selection and contract negotiation.
Doug supplemented our in-house construction staff with completion and commissioning of River (an 18-story, 209-unit luxury apartment project in Fort Lauderdale). We also asked Doug to represent American Land in St. Petersburg, Florida in public meetings as well as with the construction management through topout of 330 3rd Street Apartment, an 18-story, 358 unit luxury apartment project in St. Petersburg, Florida.
We couldn’t be any happier with the results we were able to achieve with Doug Watt, Inc.’s leadership. I would personally and highly recommend him to other owners or developers who are in need of construction expertise in their management of their design and construction processes.
Granvil Tracy, President, American Land Ventures
Equity Enterprises retained Doug Watt, Inc. as an owner representative to take the lead on a very complicated site acquisition, design oversight and construction management of Uptown Atlantic, a mixed use project situated on three city blocks, in Delray Beach.
We are an international real estate investment and development firm with holdings throughout Europe and the United States. However, because the U.S. system is very different from the European system, we were looking for a real estate development and construction expert to represent us on this complicated project, as well as an advisor who we could trust.
DWI was influential in leading the charge, including value engineering the project, design revisions and managing the bidding process, including value engineering, design revisions, bidding, and contract negotiations. Doug Watt truly became our trusted advisor and has since introduced us to other highly regarded real estate professionals that we expect to do business with in the near future.
We wouldn’t have been able to achieve such successful results if it weren’t for Doug’s leadership of our real estate development efforts. We look forward to working with DWI on the next project as we consider additional acquisitions in the U.S.
